Testimonials
“It was extremely gratifying to see a whole community in unity. Over 280 businesses, organisations, service groups and sporting groups were united for the one purpose – McGrath Breast Care Nurses.”  Hugh Bateman, The Property Shop

“Pink Up Mudgee united the community in support of a single cause like never before. It was wonderful to see more than 280 of the region’s organisations get behind the campaign and dress their businesses pink to raise awareness of Breast Cancer. The community should be proud of its efforts in raising over $100,000 for the McGrath Foundation.” Des Kennedy, Mudgee Mayor

"Pink Up Your Town brought the community of Mudgee together. The month long spectacular event raised Breast Cancer Awareness and money for the McGrath Foundation. There was big and small participation, from our local airline proudly displaying "Pink Up Mudgee" on the side of their aircraft to kids in their street selling handmade pink pom poms to help raise money. The reach was amazing and we as a town are so proud to have participated in Pink Up Mudgee to help have that conversation of Breast Cancer Awareness within generations and to raise money for the McGrath Foundation who do any amazing job by placing McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia." Pink Up Mudgee - October 2016

The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

This year 15,934 women and 150 men will receive the devastating news that breast cancer has come into their lives. When this happens a McGrath Breast Care Nurses need to be there every step of the way.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help families in Australia experiencing breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological and emotional support from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment. This support is provided free of charge and can be accessed through self-referral.

Since mid-2009, the McGrath Breast Care Nurse Diana Thomas, has provided free support to over 170families experiencing breast cancer in your area, from diagnosis and throughout treatment.

For the month of October, Mudgee will be the first town in Australia to turn pink to shine a light on the effects of breast cancer in our community. The Mudgee Chamber of Commerce supported by the Mid-Western Region Council and the McGrath Foundation are coordinating this community wide event.

Our aim is to involve the whole community to be part of this month long spectacle which is sure to attract national media attention.

Our aim is to have as many shop fronts turn pink and our goal is to have pink lighting in the main street. There will also be pink races, pink tennis, pink lawn bowls, pink touch football and pink cricket.

In addition to raising awareness of breast cancer, the Mudgee Chamber of Commerce aim is to raise much needed funds for the McGrath Foundation that help place McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities across Australia.

How can you be a part of this wonderful community initiative? Whether it be turning your shopfront pink, having your sports team wear pink, hosting a pink event, turning your hair pink, wearing pink to work,  organising a school event or any other ideas! Send them through to the Mudgee Chamber of Commerce and we will help co-ordinate.

PLACE YOUR BID ON A SIGNED 2017 COUNTRY NRL JERSEY!

The Mudgee Chamber of Commerce has secured a signed 2017 Country NRL Jersey kindly donated by Country Rugby League. The highest bid will be donated to Mudgee Hospital.

Please place your bid via EBAY by clicking on the button below.

$750 ALREADY DONATED TO THE MUDGEE HOSPITAL

The highest bid of $750 for the first 2017 signed Country NRL Jersey was donated to the Mudgee Hospital on 13 June 2017.

Thanks to NRL Country Origin the MCC auctioned off online a 2017 signed Country NRL Jersey with the jersey going to Melbourne resident, Phillip Mulley for $750. This money has today been donated to the Mudgee Hospital to benefit the region. (Photo left to right: MCC Vice President Andrew Palmer, Acting Nurses Services Manager Josh McLean, MCC Secretariat Kim Gribble, MCC Committee Member Geoff Spice).

Phillip and a long line of his family originate from Mudgee. Phillip regularly keeps up to date with what is happening in his home town by checking out the Mudgee Guardian online which is where he came across the opportunity to bid on the jersey. Phillip still holds Mudgee close to his heart and in particular, has a deep respect for the wonderful work by the men and women at Mudgee hospital. The same place where his Mother worked for over 35 years.
Thanks for your bid Phillip!
